Firstly, install the Jave Developmental Kit for the latest version of Java 7, if you use Java 8, it might not work properly. As far as your Windows OSes are concerned all the OSes are going to work i.e. Windows 32bit or 64 bit of any version of windows and Linux.

I still can't use ADB on my 4.2.2 devices. Have tried on my Galaxy Nexus (unlocked bootloader), Nexus 10 (stock), and a Nexus 4 (stock) using multiple cables and all show as offline in ADB v1.0.31. The issue is, none of them show the security popup on the device when the cable is plugged in. I'm using Platform-tools v16.0.1 and SDK tools 21.1. Originally obtained via the ADT Bundle for Windows x64 from developer.android.com My colleague (who is using Eclipse with the Android SDK obtained separately (ie. Not the ADT Bundle), Platform-tools 16.0.1 and SDK Tools 21.0.1) can plug in the devices and get the security popup to show, so the problem must be related to my machine (Windows 7 x64). I tried copying ADB and the associated dll's from his machine to mine and that still didn't cause the popup to show.

Older devices work just fine; my stock Nexus One works as expected. On my Galaxy Nexus I'm using the 'SAMSUNG Android ADB Interface' driver v2.9.5.916, but the 'Android ADB Interface driver' and 'Android Composite ADB Interface' as found in sdk/extras/google/usbdriver don't work either. I even tried uninstalling the entire Eclipse/SDK and reinstalling from the ADT bundle. Still no joy. I've also restarted phone and PC many times.

Is anyone else still struggling with this to the same extent?! Tl:dr; Can't get the security popup to show on my 4.2.2 devices.
