Hello Everyone, I am currently having an issue with mac authentication on brocade switches with IP phones. Here is the scenario: 1. We connect 1 phone with 2 ports to a switch port with a tagged VLAN 1 2. We connect a computer to the 2nd port of the phone, it gets authentication and put in untagged vlan 2 So far everything works.

The issue is we have a lot of users moving around and phones are usually hot seat for different computers which means that cables gets disconnected and connected with new machines frequently.phone gets authenticated vlan 1 -machine A gets authentication with port as vlan 2 -disconnects machine A (vlan is still on the port I guess its not aged out yet) -machine B tries to connect using vlan 3 but gets denied because vlan 2 is not still aged out I believe this happens because of the aging period but I cant get it to age almost instantly and im not sure if its the way to go with this. Should I just increase the limit of mac addresses per port and enable auth-vlan-mode or is there a better way for this?

Outlook for mac authentication issue

We are using ICX 6450s on 8.0.3. Let me know if you need any more information. I've never understood the point of MAC authentication, when you can spoof MAC addresses. Also, you're talking about a situation that most people wouldn't even think of - a PC is going to stay at a phone's location, and if it's a laptop why not go wireless? If you're seeing situations where eventually they do age out and behave as intended after a moderate wait, you may want to just increase the mac address limit and be done with it. I'm not familiar with auth-vlan-mode, since we don't use it, so I can't help there.

Any good game of thrones mod for mac. We are in a production environment and secluded network so mac spoofing is unlikely. The main goal wasn't security but rather to make the move process faster. Theres a lot of moves, it makes the job easier since we dont have to redo the port configuration each time. On a side note, they are mostly laptops and the reason I dont want to increase the mac limit is because some people are running VMs and I want to have a distinction between both. I feel like its a manual patch that is case by case and would take a long time to implement. As far as the wifi, because we have different networks, using WI-FI for certain network is not ideal for users.

Apple rightfully has a reputation of having its products 'just work'. And 99% of the time that adage holds true. Until it doesn't. When things do go wrong, Apple's error messages are cryptic, at times offering no obvious clue as to how to remedy them.

One such error is the 'Authentication Error' message when trying to log into and on your Mac, even if you've successfully logged into iCloud. The problem For a non-obvious reason, my previously properly running Mac could no longer log into iMessage or FaceTime in spite of being successfully logged into iCloud. Notes synced, Documents synced, Photo stream working, continuity functional, etc. Trying to log into iMessage triggers my two-factor authentication mechanism as expected. But when prompted for my iCloud username and password, and after a long timeout period, I simply get an 'Authentication Error'. The potential fix The fix involves getting Apple's servers to re-initialize your mac hardware to be allowed to access your iCloud services.

Log out of iCloud on the Mac. Open System Preferences. Select iCloud. Select Sign Out. Select Keep a Copy. Allow your files to download locally. Select Keep on This Mac to keep saved credentials locally.

Restart you Mac. Log into your iCloud.com web account. Open Safari. Navigate to.
